Zany Paintings in Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox

Known for his nearly obsessive attention to detail, Wes Anderson has a penchant for including zany, oddly appropriate paintings in his film sets. (Think of the “Aggressively Mediocre/Mentally Challenged/Fantasy Island (circle one)” paintings by Miguel Calderon in Eli’s apartment in The Royal Tenenbaums). Pretty awesome.

With this in mind, I couldn’t wait to see what Anderson would do in the upcoming Fantastic Mr. Fox.  Check out some pics here (note the badger painting in the second image down). Also, don’t forget to watch the official trailer. It looks, well, fantastic!

Have a great weekend!

Telephone Sheep?

Working at IMPACT is fun. The books are incredible, the art and artists are awe-inspiring, the team of editors and designers are intelligent and cultured. So it goes without saying that the forwarded emails from teammates are always worth taking the time to open.

This interesting telephone sheep art from flickr crossed my desk in the form of a forwarded email, and we agreed it should be shared with all the IMPACT followers. It reminds us that no object should be thrown out, but rather creatively converted into something new.

Next time you find something unusual in your inbox, post it as a reply here and we can all be inspired!
