I thought I’d whet your appetite by giving you some exclusive online poses we couldn’t quite squeeze into this massive tome. And if you want to draw them and post your results either here, on Facebook, or DeviantART, we’d love to see them!

Captain America: the First Avenger comes out today! So excited! Now that Harry Potter is finished, I need something new to distract me and I’ll definitely be there to watch Steve Rogers transform and kick some butt. Watch the official trailer here then go see it!
Don’t forget Comic-Con specials are still available. Free ebooks and 50% off certain titles in the North Light Shop! Happy Friday!
Unfortunately, we’ve learned that some unspeakable glitch means you can only get the free eBook for Comic Books 101 from iTunes, Barnes & Noble, Google and Sony.
Creating Comics From Start to Finish, however, is downloading just fine on all fronts so far. Our apologies for the confusion!
Comic-Con is almost here! All the madness begins Thursday, the 21st, in San Diego and IMPACT will be there. The lucky people who go can attend Preview night on Wednesday to snatch all kinds of exclusive gifts. CNN.com gave us a sneak peak of these perks including never before released Indiana Jones action figures and Mattel’s very first Voltron figure.
But, in the spirit of Comic-Con, IMPACT isn’t making us wait until Wednesday for exclusive deals. Starting this Monday (7/18) through Friday (7/25), Comic Books 101 and Creating Comics from Start to Finish will be FREE ebooks. Also, there will be the some of the best IMPACT titles, including DragonWorld and Shojo Fashion Manga Art School, offered for 50% off in the North Light Shop.
So, remember to go watch Harry Potter this weekend (like anyone really needs reminded) and keep checking in for the links and full list of on-sale titles starting Monday!
Check out this video from the Cartoon Brew Student Fest, Defective Detective. It’s a great piece of animation! Congrats to its creators, Avner Geller and Stevie Lewis.
You can find out more at Cartoon Brew’s website. I foresee spending lots of my spare time on there.
After the ten year ride, only a few more days before the Harry Potter series ends in an all-out epic war in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. This is the first and only of the series to be released in 3D. Like me, a few people are excited about this considering 2,000 showings across the U.S. are already sold out! The world premiere was Thursday in London and the ending chapter is getting rave reviews including “Potter has certainly saved the best for last” and “for the millions of fans who’ve grown up with Potter, it’s good enough to make saying goodbye a tougher proposition.”
Although Rowling doesn’t plan on writing more for Harry anytime soon, there is still Pottermore, the e-book series.
Steve Ellis, author of IMPACT Books’ Scream (2009), has been nominated for a Harvey Award for best inker. Ellis is the author of Scream, which you can purchase by clicking on the cover of the book. The Harvey Award winners will be announced at the Baltimore Comic Con August 20th. Don’t forget that San Diego Comic Con, and with them, the Eisners, are also coming up. Who do you think should win?
