Pushing the Envelope

by vanessawieland

I came across this story on Comics Alliance about a collage comic that looks absolutely incredible! I’m a huge fan of comics and collage, and putting the two together in this form exceeds every possible idea I could have come up with. The article mentions a few other non-drawn comics online; and in an interview [...]

“Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.” It’s been ten years since we lost the late, great Douglas Adams, but I think I’ll always remember the helpful advice contained in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, written on the front of the book of said name: Of course, that one usually comes to mind just as [...]

Happy Star Wars Day

Today is May 4th, which of course, is Star Wars Day. May the 4th be with you! Of course, if you write your dates European style, with the day than the month, its 4th of May. I suspect Yoda would approve of this. And tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo, so excuses options for decorating and [...]

How to Make an Abstract Graffiti Letter

Letter manipulation is a cornerstone of graffiti art. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

by mgodfrey

Based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novels about slacker/gamer/guitarist/Canadian Scott Pilgrim, the storyline remains roughly the same. Some people are worried that the film adaptation won’t do justice to the source material (when do movies ever, really?), but so far Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has a 79% on Rotten Tomatoes and some pretty decent reviews.

Heroes

by mgodfrey

I was four years old when my dad came home with a tall thin cardboard package. As a more-than-usually curious little girl it intrigued me, so I begged him to reveal its contents. My dad eventually let me help him unpack the package – it was a red-and-yellow kid’s tent with a huge Spider-Man image leaping towards me, legs pointed forward, one hand gripping his web-rope, the other thrust forward shooting web at an unsuspecting criminal! WOW!
