Say Hello to Jessica Jones, the Latest Marvel Netflix Show

Fellow Marvel fans, today is the day! Jessica Jones is finally here! Anyone else tempted to take off work and have a major marathon? I loved Marvel’s first Netflix series, Daredevil. It was so well done. I’m counting down the days until season 2. In the meantime, Jessica Jones is definitely an intriguing addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jessica has a dark story, and it seems like Marvel and Netflix are sticking to it.

Being a big Doctor Who fan, I love David Tennant. I have to say, I’m actually really excited to see him take on this dark villainous role. His turn as Barty Crouch in Harry Potter was so short that I don’t think we’ve really gotten the chance to see him fully inhabit a villain. If the voiceovers and snippets from the trailer are anything to go by, he’s going to be perfectly creepy.

First we just got short little teasers of Jessica. Smashing an alarm clock, drinking, not putting up with anyone, she’s one tough chick.

But then they finally released some full video and wow does it look dark. Really well done, but definitely dark. I’ll admit I haven’t read all the comics, but I started doing my research once the series announcement was made. It looks like they’re actually following the dark threads of her original story. So that’s going to be really interesting to see on the small screen. It’s interesting to see a story that focuses on the time after a superhero does the big hero work. She still has powers but she’s not parading around in a costume.
