Delicate Paper Sculptures Nearly Disappear

Korean artist Ho Yoon Shin creates delicate paper sculptures by hand. The results are pretty amazing. The paper is cut so perfectly that the paper sculptures actually seem to disappear depending on what angle you’re looking at them. From the side you see a solid sculpture of Darth Vader’s helmet or a Buddha statue, but look at it straight on and you can look right through the sculpture and see the wall behind it. It’s definitely a very unique art form. Ho Yoon Shin has also recreated famous sculptures like the Venus de Milo and David. It’s fascinating to see those marble sculptures turned into paper sculptures.

It’s amazing how detailed the pieces are even though they’re just paper. A lot of work went into cutting and piecing these together. It would be amazing to see them in person.
