I love that few months are dedicated to certain creative things. November is NaNoWriMo, which is right around the corner, and now that it’s October it’s Inktober! Inktober is a drawing challenge that asks the participants to do one ink drawing a day for the whole month. It doesn’t have to be big and elaborate. It’s all about doing a drawing a day and creating positive drawing habits. Artist Jake Parker created the challenge back in 2009 and the project has just gotten bigger every year! Click here to get more info about the project and how to participate.
Here are some of the awesome projects created during the past few years of Inktober:
It’s a lot of fun to look through the hashtag and see the art everyone creates. Have you ever participated in Inktober before? Have fun and start drawing! I think I may just give it a try myself this year!
If you’re looking for some inspiration for your Inktober drawings, make sure to keep an eye out for the Drawing Drills we post here and on our Facebook and Twitter. Then share your art with us! We love to see what you create. You can also find helpful step-by-step tutorials in our books like Winged Fantasy by Brenda Lyons and Drawing Cartoon Faces by 8fish and Harry Hamernik.
