The Simple and Creative Food Art of Brock Davis

Either artist Brock Davis wasn’t told not to play with his food as a kid or he did it anyway. Either way he creates very interesting food art, and I do love food art! I love the simplicity of the images. The food art isn’t very elaborate but he does a great job making you view objects in a new way. That cucumber isn’t just a cucumber. With a couple cuts it turns into a whale. A slice of cake becomes a car ramp; a cashew turns into a game controller; a few pieces of cereal become a TIE Fighter. It’s amazing to see these everyday objects completely turned into something else.

Brock has been featured on Mashable, Fast Company, Wired and Shutterstock. Brock talks about his process and ideas for creating these unique images.

I love that the images are simple but very effective. The design is clear and it definitely makes me look at the food in a different way! It’s also so inspiring that these were just created with everyday objects and the photos taken with an iPhone. I feel like that’s something I can do too.

Make sure to check out Brock’s website and instagram for more food art and other work he’s created. If you’re inspired to create your own food art we would love to see! Share it with us on Facebook or Twitter.
